The ultimate Tug-Of-War is upon us - should you stay or should you go?
Even as data suggests the impact of Social Distancing is working, a growing number of Social Distance Warriors are taking a shall not comply stance against stay-at-home directives and vaccine mandates.
These protests might be counterproductive and possibly misinformed (COVID-19 isn’t just the flu.). On the other hand, we live in a country where people will risk their lives for freedom, with no regrets. We can easily embrace both sides.
Perhaps @hollandcourtney tweeted it best:
Since early 2020, when the federal government first requested $1.24 billion to help combat COVID-19, the rate of social distancing varied by state. Now, those various states are reconsidering the impact to their economies, especially with the recent uptick in COVID-19 cases. Maybe we're all essential workers, after all?
Still, the question remains: Will I be able to maintain adequate social distancing while also attempting to "return to normal?" But what about my neighbors? Will they continue to abide by social distancing in my County? My State?
Using privacy-protected data from cell phones, government agencies, health care systems and other sources, researchers at the University of Maryland (UMD) are exploring how social distancing and stay-at-home orders are affecting travel behavior and the spread of COVID-19.
Our tool below allows you to compare your current social distance measures against those in your county, state and even nationwide.
Whether you're a Social Distance Warrior or a Social Distance Rebel, instead of spreading a deadly virus, we can once again spread peace, love and happiness and keep your distance in our Social Distance t-shirts.
